The 95th Academy Awards nominations were announced today by hosts Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams. The complete list of nominees was released and included some surprises.
The Best Picture nominees were “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” and “The Father.” Other notable nominations included “Mank” for Best Cinematography, “The Trial of the Chicago 7” for Best Original Screenplay, and “Soul” for Best Animated Feature.
The list of nominees also included some unexpected names. IndieWire predicted unusual nominations such as “Promising Young Woman” for Best Picture, “Minari” for Best Original Score, and “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” for Best Actress.
The Oscars ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 25, 2021. Viewers can watch the ceremony live on ABC.
