VICTOR, ID – Authorities in Teton County have launched a statewide search for a 10-month-old boy believed to have been abducted by a man suspected of homicide. The Teton County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Amber Alert in Idaho and neighboring Wyoming for the child, identified as Zeke Gregory Best.
Amid a statewide manhunt, police have identified 48-year-old Jeremy Albert Best, the child’s father, as the primary suspect. According to the Teton County Sheriff, Jeremy is considered armed and dangerous. He is reported to be on the run, potentially driving a black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe with Idaho license plates 1T39349.
The Amber Alert follows a chilling 911 call late Thursday night. Deputies dispatched to a residence on Skyline Loop in Victor discovered a woman, since identified as Kali Jean Randall, 38, deceased under alarming circumstances. Officials have launched a homicide investigation into her death, naming Jeremy Best as the suspect in this case as well.
Jeremy Best is described as standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 248 pounds with gray hair and a gray beard. Authorities have urged the public to maintain a safe distance and to avoid approaching or attempting to confront him due to the perceived threat.
The Sheriff’s Office is appealing for any information concerning the whereabouts of Jeremy Best, the black Chevrolet Tahoe, or little Zeke. Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any sightings by dialing 208-354-2323 or contacting emergency services immediately.
Investigators have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding Randall’s death, nor the motive behind the suspect’s alleged actions. No further details have been provided about the relationship between the suspect and the victim, except that the abducted child is the son of both the victim and the suspect.
The Teton County community remains on high alert as law enforcement agencies combine efforts to safely recover the young child and locate the suspect.
