Woman and her mother stabbed to death by her boyfriend who said he’d do it again if he gets out of jail

MERRITT ISLAND, FL – A man named Edward Cocaine, 45, allegedly wielded a knife and threatened employees at a Subway restaurant following a confrontation earlier this month, according to law enforcement officials.

The incident occurred on April 5, when Cocaine and a friend visited the Subway on Merritt Island. Feeling disrespected by the staff, Cocaine reportedly took the situation into his own hands, despite his companion’s urge to leave the premises, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Cocaine allegedly crossed into the employee area, pushing past one of the workers before brandishing a knife in a threatening manner, as per the complaint. Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey later addressed the outrageousness of the event.

The sheriff humorously remarked about the suspect’s unusual name in a social media post, underscoring the seriousness of the alleged threats with a light-hearted tone. “Clearly this guy, Edward Cocaine, doesn’t know that in Brevard County, if you mess around, you’re gonna find out… the hard way!” he wrote.

Fortunately, Cocaine’s friend managed to restrain him, leading both men to vacate the restaurant. Surveillance footage aided deputies in locating Cocaine’s associate’s truck, which led to identifying Cocaine as the suspect.

In an interview with law enforcement, Cocaine reportedly admitted to the actions caught on camera, albeit with some discrepancies in his recollection of events. Sheriff Ivey noted that Cocaine recognized the inappropriateness of pulling a weapon over a customer service dispute.

Cocaine now faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count each for burglary with assault or battery. Having posted a $17,000 bond, he awaits his next court appearance set for May 6.

While the incident may have sparked social media discussions due to the suspect’s peculiar name, the charges reflect the grave nature of threatening violence in public establishments.
