Memphis, Tenn. — Rick Link, a former professional wrestler renowned for his fierce matches in the ring, has died at the age of 66. Link was known for his memorable victory over WWE icon Jerry “The King” Lawler, a moment that solidified his status within the wrestling community.

In recent weeks, Link had been undergoing dialysis for kidney issues but made the difficult decision to cease his lifesaving treatments. Just days before his passing, his family announced that he had entered hospice care. Born into the wrestling world at age 15, Link trained under Johnny Hunter and made his debut in 1975 under the ring persona M.E.B. (Man Eating Beast).
