The San Francisco 49ers’ 2022 season has officially been ruled out due to a series of unfortunate injuries. On Sunday, the team’s quarterback, Brock Purdy, was diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow, leaving the team without a starting QB.
The 49ers’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles was further clouded by what-ifs and second guesses, as the team was already missing starting QB Josh Johnson, who was injured in the first quarter.
The Eagles showed the 49ers the meaning of being physical, with a strong defensive presence that kept them from making any real progress. The 49ers’ offense was unable to get anything going, and the Eagles took advantage of the opportunity to secure a win.
The 49ers will now have to look to the future, as the team has been officially ruled out for the 2022 season. With Purdy and Johnson out, the team will have to look to other options to fill the starting QB spot.
