LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – NBA G League player Chance Comanche has confessed to strangling a woman and burying her body in a Nevada desert, according to new court documents. The 27-year-old, 6-foot-10 center, who played in one NBA game in his career, was arrested for his alleged role in the murder of the woman earlier this month.

In the court documents, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigators stated that Comanche and his ex-girlfriend, 19-year-old Sakari Harnden, played a role in the disappearance of Marayna Rodgers, and Comanche confessed to killing her during a series of interviews. Officials said Comanche and Harnden had lured Rodgers out on December 6 with the promise of payment for sexual acts. They allegedly strangled her and then dumped her body in a ditch, burying it with rocks.

Comanche, who was in Las Vegas to participate in a G League game with his team, the Stockton Kings, was arrested on December 15 while practicing for the Kings. He initially faced a kidnapping charge, but officials later said he would be formally charged with murder. Harnden was also arrested on December 13 in Vegas and is facing a murder charge as well.

Comanche appeared in court in Sacramento County and waived his extradition. He is expected to be transported to Vegas in the coming days.
