Damian Lillard had an outstanding performance in the Portland Trail Blazers’ 131-114 win over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. The Blazers point guard scored a career-high 71 points, becoming the eighth player in NBA history to score 70 or more points in a game.
Lillard’s performance helped propel the Blazers to victory and pushed him up to 62nd on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He shot an impressive 18-of-28 from the field, including 8-of-13 from three-point range, and 27-of-28 from the free-throw line.
The Rockets were unable to contain Lillard, who also had 10 assists and seven rebounds in the game. His performance was so impressive that Rockets coach Stephen Silas said, “He was just spectacular tonight.”
The Blazers have been on a roll since the return of Lillard from injury, and their victory over the Rockets was their fourth in a row. With Lillard leading the way, the Blazers are looking to make a deep run in the playoffs this season.
