DETROIT, MI – A Michigan man reportedly killed his wife with unusual weapons, authorities stated, turning himself into police following the alleged murder.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office announced that 68-year-old Timothy Morgan faces a first-degree murder charge, accused of ending the life of his 67-year-old wife, Kathryn Morgan. The tragic incident reportedly took place in the early hours of May 4, and he allegedly used a plastic sword and a pair of pliers to commit the grisly act.
Detroit police received a call about a stabbing around 4:30 a.m. and arrived at a Conley Street residence where they discovered Kathryn Morgan’s body. The authorities indicated that her wounds included multiple stabs to her back and head.
After the incident, Timothy Morgan surrendered at the 11th Precinct of Detroit Police Department and was subsequently detained at the Wayne County Criminal Justice Center. He remains in custody without the option for bail.
Investigators disclosed that the peculiar murder weapons were a plastic sword and pliers. They believe the sword inflicted several stabs before the pliers were used for a lethal blow to her head.
Kathryn Morgan’s body was located in the living room of their home, but police have not disclosed any possible motives behind the killing.
Timothy Morgan had his initial court appearance on Tuesday. Upcoming legal proceedings include a probable cause hearing set for May 16, followed by a preliminary examination scheduled to occur on May 22.
