Indianapolis, Indiana (AP) — On Thursday, ABC aired “The Golden Wedding” special, featuring the marriage of 72-year-old Gerry Turner, also known as “The Golden Bachelor,” to his 70-year-old fiancee, Theresa Nist. Their wedding was a significant event, attended by family and friends, as well as fellow “Golden Bachelor” contestants and figures of “Bachelor” nation.

During the ceremony, heartfelt vows were exchanged as Nist promised to be Turner’s rock and to have fun together, while Turner vowed to support Nist and cherish their trust. The wedding was officiated by Susan Noles, a close friend and fellow contestant on “The Golden Bachelor.”

Turner’s journey to find love on the show came after the death of his high school sweetheart and wife of 43 years, Toni, in 2017. Encouraged by his daughters, Turner decided to embark on this new chapter in his life.
