Mike Pence Subpoenaed: Special Counsel Investigates Trump’s Role in Jan. 6 Riot

Former Vice President Mike Pence has been subpoenaed by the special counsel investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol, according to multiple news outlets.

The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Pence was served with a subpoena in connection with the investigation into the violence that left five dead and the Capitol building damaged.

CNN confirmed the news, reporting that Pence was served with the subpoena after his office received a request for documents related to the attack.

MSNBC also reported on the news, citing a source close to the investigation who said Pence was served with the subpoena in connection with the special counsel’s investigation.

The Hill reported that the FBI recently searched Pence’s home in Indiana for classified documents related to the attack, citing comments from former White House aide Marc Short.

The special counsel’s investigation is ongoing and no individuals have been charged in connection with the attack.
