A shocking tragedy has rocked the town of Duxbury, Massachusetts this week. On Monday, two children were found unconscious in a home on Summer Street. The children, a two-year-old and a newborn, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The mother of the two children, who has not been identified, is now in police custody and is expected to face murder charges. The infant was flown to a hospital but did not survive.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said in a statement that the mother will be charged with two counts of murder. They added that it was an “unimaginable and senseless tragedy.”
Police have not released any further details about the incident, but a neighbor said that they heard yelling and screaming coming from the house earlier in the day.
The incident has left the community in shock and many are struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
