Mysterious Deaths of Three Men in Kansas City Prompt Family Members to Start Independent Investigation

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Family members of three men found dead in a classmate’s backyard are taking matters into their own hands, launching an investigation into the mysterious deaths. Ricky Johnson, 38, David Harrington, 37, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were discovered after they had been missing for two days before their bodies were found.

Their families have set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for a private investigator and lawyers to further investigate the deaths. The money raised will also go towards funeral costs and supporting Johnson’s three young children.

The three men had been at a classmate’s house after watching a Kansas City Chiefs football game on Jan. 7 when they went missing. The classmate claims he last saw the men shortly after midnight on Jan. 8 before going to bed while the three men were still at his home.

The families express their frustration with the police, claiming that authorities are not taking the case seriously enough and are refusing to answer their questions about the deaths. The police, however, state that they have been in contact with the families and are treating the matter as a death investigation, with no signs of foul play at the scene.

Toxicology reports have been received, but autopsy reports are still pending and could take several weeks to be completed. The families met with the district attorney to discuss the case and express their concerns about the police’s handling of the situation.

The families are determined to get answers and are determined to pursue their own investigation, fearing that the police may not conduct a thorough enough investigation. They express their heartbreak and desperation for answers in the face of the unexplained deaths.
