Omaha Man Convicted in Mass Shooting Sentenced to Prison for Multiple Weapons Charges

OMAHA, NE – A man involved in a tragic mass shooting that claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman in Omaha has been sentenced to prison. Kiwan Dampeer, found guilty of multiple weapons charges related to the shooting, including possession of a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm at an inhabited structure, will serve 20 to 27 years behind bars. With credit for time served, Dampeer faces up to 17 1/2 years in prison and could be eligible for parole in 14 years.

The victim, Karly Wood, was allegedly shot and killed by Imhotep Davis in November of 2022. Davis, who faces additional charges, including first-degree assault, is set to appear in court on March 14.
