Scotland Police Investigate Murder of Donegal Woman in Rutherglen Flat

GLASGOW, Scotland – Police in Scotland have launched an investigation after 61-year-old Ann Coll, originally from Donegal, was found murdered in a flat in Rutherglen. Coll was discovered with serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene in the early hours of Friday, December 22nd. Following a post-mortem examination, police confirmed that they are treating her death as a murder.

Authorities have been conducting door-to-door inquiries in the town’s Newfield Place area while the murder investigation is ongoing. Coll, who hailed from Arduns in Gaoth Dobhair in West Donegal, still has many relatives in the area.

Detective Inspector Lynsey Watters expressed condolences to Coll’s family and urged anyone with concerns or information to come forward and speak to the officers. Additional police presence will be in the area as the investigation continues. Watters noted that extensive inquiries are ongoing and officers are continuing to work door-to-door, along with other lines of investigation.
