The Golden State Warriors are dealing with a major injury to their star player, Stephen Curry. On Tuesday night, Curry left the game against the Mavericks in the second half after suffering a left leg injury.
According to a report from Yahoo Sports, Curry is expected to miss multiple weeks due to the injury. ESPN reported that Curry (knee) exited the game and the Warriors are keeping their “fingers crossed” that the injury isn’t serious.
The Warriors were able to get the win in Curry’s absence, but the team will now have to play without their star guard for the near future.
Curry has been one of the most important players on the team this season, averaging 29.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
The Warriors will have to rely on other players such as Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. to fill the void left by Curry’s absence. The team will have to wait and see how long Curry will be out for, as the injury update could be crucial for their playoff hopes.
