WILKINSON COUNTY, MS – Authorities are on the hunt for Sammy Patrick, a suspect wanted for capital murder after the alleged shooting and setting on fire of an elderly woman in Forest, Mississippi.
Patrick is suspected of robbing a Subway in Wilkinson County while armed, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. The robbery occurred on Monday afternoon, shortly after the alleged murder of the elderly woman on Old Jackson Road in Forest.
Woodville Police Chief Lemuel Rutledge reported that the armed robbery happened around 2:50 p.m. at the Subway located off Highway 61 in Woodville. Patrick was further seen getting gas at a Shell gas station and driving a stolen dark-colored Ford Ranger with a disabled tag reading DBW5119 on Old Highway 21, traveling north on Highway 61 towards Natchez.
Multiple agencies, including the Mississippi Highway Patrol and Louisiana State Police, are involved in the search for Patrick.
The incident has sparked a widespread search effort, with concern for public safety in the region. Patrick remains at large, and authorities are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
