BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Comedian Jo Koy faced a moment of awkwardness while hosting the 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hilton. One of his jokes, aimed at singer Taylor Swift, did not seem to resonate well with her.

During the live broadcast, Koy made a remark about the amount of airtime Swift has been getting at NFL games compared to the coverage she would receive during the awards ceremony. The camera then cut to Swift in the audience, who appeared unamused.

Swift, who has been dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, has been a regular attendee at the athlete’s NFL games. Koy, later addressing the viral moment on the red carpet, brushed it off as being cute and harmless.

Despite the seemingly chilly response from Swift, Koy seemed pleased with the hosting gig and with the impressive sweep of AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) wins at the event.

Swift has previously addressed the negative backlash surrounding the NFL’s coverage of her attendance at Kelce’s games, stating that she is simply there to support Travis and has no awareness of the extent of her coverage.
