Tragic Crash: Family of Justin Moore Criticizes ‘Not Enough’ 12-Year Sentence for Killer Driver

BROOKVILLE, IN – The family of Justin Moore expressed disappointment over the sentencing of the woman responsible for his death in a 2021 crash. Gina Price, 40, was handed a 12-year prison sentence and three years of probation after being found guilty of reckless homicide and causing death while operating a motor vehicle.

Moore’s brother, Jeremy, and his sister-in-law, Nichole Parrish, shared fond memories of Justin, remembering him for his sense of humor and community work. They expressed their grief, stating that no amount of sentencing could ever make up for the life that was taken.

Parrish also mentioned that Price showed no emotion upon receiving her sentence, as it was revealed that she was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. The impact of Moore’s death was felt deeply in the community, with over 1,000 people attending his funeral.

Justin Moore was a beloved member of the community, known for his dedication to public service. He worked for the Union County Highway Department and had recently won a seat on the Franklin County School Board.

The incident occurred while Moore was working on Clifton Road, laying gravel with his colleague Douglas Scaggs. Tragically, Moore lost his life at the scene, while Scaggs sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.

Seeing the impact that Moore’s death had on the community, it is evident that his presence was deeply valued. The sentencing of Price may have provided some form of closure, but for Moore’s family and the community at large, it is clear that the loss is immeasurable.
