Two women get in fight at Walmart and one picks up the other’s baby in a carrier and throws it

MUNCIE, IN – A 36-year-old woman from Muncie is facing legal trouble after being involved in two separate altercations with women linked to her former partners. The recent arrest of Shamesha Hendrix centers on a conflict at Walmart involving a mother and her child, authorities said.

According to police reports, Hendrix was apprehended on February 15 following a preliminary charge of felony battery against a person under 14. The incident, which occurred on January 17, involved Hendrix allegedly confronting a woman who has a child with a mutual ex-partner. During the encounter, Hendrix reportedly insulted the child and then aggressively placed the child’s carrier back into a shopping cart, causing alarm.

The confrontation began outside a Walmart in Muncie. Reports indicate Hendrix exited her vehicle and approached the victim, who was maneuvering a cart with her child inside. The situation escalated when Hendrix allegedly made derogatory remarks about the child and tossed the baby seat, which remained secured in the cart, police said.

The child, fortunately, was unharmed, and emergency responders on the scene confirmed that the child appeared fine after examining the situation. Despite the paramedics’ recommendation, the child’s mother opted not to take her to the hospital immediately.

A second incident from October 2023 at a Family Dollar store is also part of Hendrix’s legal issues. On that occasion, Hendrix allegedly attacked another woman romantically linked to one of her former partners. This incident landed Hendrix with a misdemeanor charge for causing bodily harm.

Court documents describe the October altercation as starting with an angry exchange. Hendrix allegedly confronted the woman in the store, leading to a physical altercation that continued outside in the parking lot. During this encounter, Hendrix and her daughter were accused of forcibly trying to pull the victim from her car, police reports indicate.

The prosecution’s office is currently reviewing the Walmart case to potentially move forward with formal charges, according to the Delaware County Prosecutor’s team. Meanwhile, formal charges have already been filed concerning the Family Dollar incident, which remains pending in the court system.

Hendrix’s legal troubles underscore the serious nature of such public confrontations and the resulting criminal implications. As these cases proceed, the community remains focused on the proceedings to understand fully the circumstances and repercussions involved in these public disputes.
