On Sunday evening, a spectacular celestial event was witnessed over the English Channel, France, and Britain. Astronomers had detected an asteroid, Sar2667, in the sky, and were expecting it to safely strike Earth’s atmosphere.

The asteroid lit up the sky, creating a shooting star effect as it flew over the Channel. In a historic airburst, the asteroid then exploded over the Channel, much to the delight of stargazers.
