The death toll has since risen to 8 after a shooting in Monterey Park on Wednesday. Police have identified the shooter as a 40-year-old man and have stated that the victims were all known to him.

The ex-wife of the Monterey Park shooting suspect has spoken out, saying that he was “quick to anger”.

The US has now seen more mass shootings in 2021 than the number of days in the year, according to a database. The Monterey Park shooting has reminded us of America’s most tragic policy failure, with gun violence continuing to be a major issue in the country.
