Tragedy struck the Des Moines community on Monday, as a school shooting left two students dead and one school employee injured. The shooting occurred at a nonprofit organization, and three people were taken into custody.
The Des Moines Police Department has identified the shooter as an 18-year-old male. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder.
The victims have been identified as two students, aged 16 and 17, and a school employee, who is in serious condition.
